What is Nubuck Leather?

Nubuck Leather: Is top grain leather that has been sanded on the grain side or outside  to give it a slight nap  and velvety feel. If you run your hand across the leather you will see a slight variation in color, run it the other way and it will go back to its original color;

Although nubuck and suede  are sanded and buffed  to give it the nap and velvety feel  the main  difference is that nubuck is sanded on the outside of the leather what would have been the outer skin of the animal. While the suede is sanded on the inside of the skin.

Because nubuck is basically what would have been the outer layer of the animal skin is tougher and longer lasting than suede.
